Michelle Joseph has an Education degree from Michigan State University with a major in English and minor in Social Science. She has taught elementary, middle school and Specials Events at Lexington College. She has worked in marketing & sales, meeting planning, training & development for the following companies: Entertainment Publications, Fisher Scientific, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Responsible Hospitality Institute and The Chicago Hospitality Resource Partnership.
Michelle owns a business consulting event/meeting planning company called The Local Connection Chicago, Inc. (TLCC). For years, TLCC has created events and provided connections and networking opportunities for business and social purposes.
As one of the founders and the Executive Director of the Chicago Hospitality Resource Partnership (HRP); a non-profit corporation which has established a non-political alliance of people from the hospitality industry, community, city and state agencies, CAPS and the Chicago Police Department. The Chicago HRP’s mission is to improve the quality of life of Chicago neighborhoods by providing safe and vibrant places for people to socialize.
Contracted by the Marketing Department of the entertainment television show, “24/7 Chicago, Secrets of the City”, Michelle develops promotions and events.
Michelle has taught “Special Events” at Lexington College. Lexington College is a not-for-profit, private, accredited women's college in Chicago with a Bachelor's degree program specializing in hospitality management. Located in the West Loop, Lexington offers four specializations: culinary arts, event planning, hotel/restaurant management and social development. Michelle also sits on the Industry Advisory Board for Lexington College.
Michelle has been involved in the community as an event planner, meeting planner, board member and volunteer with the following organizations: Chicago Special Olympics, St. Jude Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes, Hispanocare, Ronald McDonald House, Lakeview Chamber Charities, Meals on Wheels, Chicago Cares, Chicago Uncorked, Chicago Wine Brats, Women in Catering, The Sheffield Neighborhood Assoc., The Australian New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, MSU Alumni Association and Lexington College.
